Raffaele Marciello on his way to Hypercar with an Italian manufacturer
3 Aug. 2022 ‧ 8:55
After six years with Mercedes, the 27-year-old Italian is set to join the premier class of endurance racing.
It would have been curious if no manufacturer had looked into his case. Raffaele Marciello has been Mercedes' leading light in the GT3 category since 2017, with a Blancpain GT Sprint Cup title with AKKA-ASP in 2018, a FIA GT World Cup victory in 2019 and, of course, a success at the Spa 24 Hours last Sunday, an event that also saw him sign three pole positions in a row.
In both the IGTC and the Endurance Cup, the Italian has often finished in 2nd or 3rd place, but without ever winning a title. But perhaps he will remedy that this year before leaving Mercedes.
