The company from Maranello had unveiled a first visual to "tease" its new weapon on the eve of the last 24 Hours of Le Mans (HERE). But it didn't show enough to calm down its fans' ardor.
Today, the Italian manufacturer unveiled a new image of its LMH, which hit the track for the first time this morning with Ale Pier Guidi, on the home track of Fiorano. The same one that is now overlooked by a brand new building intended to host the activities of the Competizioni GT department headed by Antonello Coletta, in charge of this Hypercar program.
“This is a very exciting moment, eagerly awaited both by the people who worked on this project and Ferrari fans,” said Antonello Coletta, Head of Ferrari Attività Sportive GT. “Being able to touch the result of many months of work, planning, and simulations gives us new energy and motivation. We are proud of what we have achieved, and although the LMH’s masking during testing hides the car’s volumes and styling, I think it is undeniably recognisable as a Ferrari.”
Although no information has been revealed about the technical architecture of the car, three drivers are expected to sit in the car this week : Alessandro Pier Guidi, Nicklas Nielsen and Andrea Bertolini, who will be in charge on Friday as the other drivers will be in Monza, where the fourth round of the 2022 WEC season will be held this weekend, 200 kilometers away.
The aim is to be ready for the opening round of the upcoming World Endurance Championship in March 2023.
