This is no surprise, but it's always good to know that the idea is still alive. In today's press release, Porsche Penske Motorsport reaffirmed its desire to compete in the the 8 Hours of Bahrain 2022 (November 12).

''The official race debut of the Porsche 963 is planned to take place in January 2023 at the 24 Hours of Daytona in the USA'', can we read. ''In the meantime, the FIA WEC has opened the door for testing as part of the upcoming world championship races this year. Porsche Penske Motorsport is aiming for a non-competitive dress rehearsal at the final round of the season in Bahrain this November.''

For a first battle against Toyota and Peugeot before an exciting 2023 season.
