Romain Dumas : "It would have paid off but it doesn't always pay off"
14 Jun. 2022 ‧ 16:00
For the third year in a row, Romain Dumas finished in the top 5 of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Glickenhaus 007 LMH #708 tried to trouble the Toyota camp but not for the length of the race. The fourth place in the final race leaves the three-time winner (LMP and GT) with some regrets.
Before the start of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, it was not clear how much credit to give to the two Glickenhaus 007 LMHs. The #708 of Romain Dumas, Olivier Pla and Pipo Derani was the favourite of many in the media centre on Saturday afternoon. Nobody, I mean nobody, would have thought of predicting a Glickenhaus victory in Le Mans when the programme was presented. Why not ? Not for lack of skill, but simply because beating Toyota seemed impossible.
