Mirko Bortolotti is still learning in the tightly-packed LM P2 field with the WRT team in the 2022 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The official Lamborghini driver and his team-mates Rolf Ineichen and Dries Vanthoor in the Belgian team's #32 Oreca 07, were far from demerited during the qualifying session, with the Italian setting the tenth fastest time against drivers who were far more experienced than him at the wheel of an LM P2 car.

But his time of 3'31"808 was not enough to reach the Hyperpole of the category.

"It wasn't the best qualifying, I must say, admitted Mirko Bortolotti. I think we made a good step forward after the practice session and I'm happy about that.

I was going to do a good lap at the end, but unfortunately I couldn't finish it, so P10 for the first time in Le Mans is a good start.

Now I'm looking forward to the race, which is the most important moment, knowing after qualifying that we had more potential."

The Italian continued to learn the conditions of Le Mans shining in free practice, setting the 10th fastest time at night. The only thing left to do now is to confirm his performance in the race, starting at 4pm tomorrow.
