The new version of the LM P2 class, which will arrive in 2025, will be governed by an AoP system.

If Hypercar and GTE are never far from the traditional Balance of Perormance, we will have to talk about AoP (Adjustment of Performance) for the new generation of LM P2 in 2025.   Confirmed by the ACO on Friday during its press conference on the sidelines of the Le Mans 24 Hours, this system will be used twice a year to allow a field to be in the same performance window. But there is no question of talking about BoP, as the ACO made clear.  "We want to avoid an explosion of costs and too much development," said Richard Mille, Chairman of the FIA Endurance Commission. "One adjustment will be made at the beginning of the season and the other, to be clarified, will take place after Le Mans."   With this in mind, Pierre Fillon, president of the ACO, also specified that the reduction of the operating personnel was a possibility.   Oreca, Dallara, Ligier and Multimatic will still be the manufacturers retained for this new era, with the hope that the field will be more diversified than at present, where Oreca largely dominates. The wish of the governing body of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the WEC is to arrive at cars that are easier to run with a similar level of performance to those currently available.   Hybridisation remains a possibility for the future according to Richard Mille, but once again within a framework of cost control.
