Madpanda Motorsport is pleased to welcome Franco Girolami for the second round of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Endurance. The Argentinian TCR driver will make his debut in the GT category.

Besides his program in TCR, Franco Girolami will make his first laps with the Mercedes GT3 Evo on the Circuit Paul Ricard at the beginning of June. A circuit he knows, having finished 2nd and 4th in the second round of the TCR Europe ten days ago. As a sprint driver, Franco will have to adapt to the car, the endurance rules and the SRO championship.

The 30-year-old driver has a lot of experience in motorsport. He has driven extensively in Argentina (Formula Renault, TC2000, Top Race V6) before crossing the Atlantic and doing TCR in the European and Italian championships. The TCR driver has decided to give the GT arena a try after having done very well in touring cars. In fact, Girolami was runner-up in the 2021 TCR Europe and is currently leading the 2022 standings. t's now time for him to discover the premier GT class, the GT3.

Franco Girolami joins Sean Walkinshaw and Ezequiel Companc for the 6 hours of Paul Ricard, taking place next Saturday evening from 6 pm. After a challenging first round in Imola, the Madpanda team is looking forward to racing in the South of France where the tests at the beginning of April went well.

Franco Girolami, driver: "I am delighted that Ezequiel and the Madpanda team have trusted me for this edition of the 1000 km of Paul Ricard. I am really looking forward to driving the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo and starting to work with the team. It will be my first race in GT cars, for which I am very motivated and will give 110% of myself. The GT World Challenge is the most important series in the world for this type of car, so it will be a very big challenge for me and I feel ready to do it!”

Ezequiel Companc, team principal and driver: "I'm really happy to have Franco in the car with us. I've been following him for a while now and he's been doing an amazing job in TCR. He tested with us last year in Barcelona and he proved to be fast as well in GT's. There was this opportunity to race in Paul Ricard together and I'm sure we will achieve good results! Looking forward to it!"
