Nürburg 24H : Land Motorsport suffers from lack of support from Audi
As we explained to you a few days ago, things have changed recently at Audi Sport customer racing. The support of the German manufacturer is no longer what it used to be and Land Motorsport is paying the price for the 24 Hours of Nürburgring. "It was a decision by Audi," explained team manager Christian Land. "The requirements for the teams were different this year than in the past. For example, the allocation of customer race cars was linked to the provision of additional private cars. However, a private entry car did not come together this year. Since we could not meet this criterion, we had no chance to enter the customer race. This is a pity because we have good memories of our 24-hour races with Audi. Nevertheless, we have to accept the decision. I can already promise that we will be back on the grid next year to fight for victory! We wish the participants all the best and the fans a lot of fun. In order for Land Motorsport to be at the start with Audi, the German team had to run a private Audi in parallel as do Phoenix Racing and Car Collection Motorsport, the only two teams to run R8 LMS GT3s under the Audi Sport banner. Land Motorsport is therefore concentrating on a programme in the ADAC GT Masters this year with Audi.
