After several years away from racing, Freddie Hunt is making his return to competition this year in the Michelin Le Mans Cup in a Ligier JS P320 entered by Reiter Engineering. The next step will be the European Le Mans Series before aiming for the WEC and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Freddie Hunt has one goal: to win the 2026 Le Mans 24 Hours, the year of his father's 50th world title in F1. To achieve this goal, Freddie Hunt, 34, has just signed a five-year contract with Reiter Engineering, the team run by Hans Reiter.

"Having signed a contract for the next five years means a lot of security for our future plannings", said Hans Reiter. "Additional to LMP3, I hope we will be able to give Freddie the opportunity to also race our KTM GTX and GT2 cars, in the near future. I am convinced he would love it. Now, we have to do everything, to see Freddie and his teammate Mads Siljehaug on a Le Mans Cup podium this year."

"I am absolutely delighted to be given this opportunity with such a good team", says Freddie Hunt. "After many years of dreaming about Le Mans with inadequate resources to act I can now finally have a good go at it. I just hope my age hasn't degraded my speed too much! I am a bit rusty after so many years with very little time on the track but I am confident with hard work and such a team behind me I can be competitive.“
