Sixteenth after starting from 21st yesterday (see HERE), Sébastien Loeb was not unhappy with his performance in the first race of the 2022 DTM season in Portimão, Portugal.

Today, the driver of the #37 Red Bull/AlphaTauri Ferrari 488 GT3 run by Af Corse will have to be really strong if he wants to do better as he only set the 27th best lap time in Q2, 1'251 behind poleman Nico Müller. As Loeb said yesterday: "the gaps are tiny" and a few tenths are enough to start very far on the grid.

With a lap time of 1'39''794, the Swiss driver - driving the #51 Audi R8 LMS / Team Rosberg - was 0'207 and 0'217 faster than Mirko Bortolloti (#63 / GRT Lamborghini Huracan) and Sébastien Loeb's team mate Felipe Fraga. Sheldon van der Linde (#31 BMW M4 GT3 / Schubert Motorsport) and yesterday's winner Lucas Auer (#22 Mercedes-AMG GT3 / Winward) are fourth and fifth.

The top fourteen drivers are grouped together in less than five tenths.

The start of this second race will be given at 12.30 pm GMT.
