Charles Weerts, who won the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint title in 2021, is now aiming for the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance crown and the 24 Hours of Spa. Dries Vanthoor's teammate (with Kelvin van der Linde in Endurance) started the season in the best possible way by taking a victory in Imola in the #32 Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II entered by WRT. The Belgian talks to Endurance-Info about what lies ahead for him this season.

Happy to be back in the championship?
"I was looking forward to racing at Imola. We know that the first race of the championship is important, especially in a season with five races in endurance racing. If you had a look to Monza 2021, we were second before we had a puncture. The missing points cost us the title. The level increases every year and we have to be there from the first meeting. Imola was not an easy circuit for overtaking. Qualifying is therefore essential to have a clean race."
