DTM - Sébastien Loeb making progress in Portimão
Sébastien Loeb is far from being ridiculous in Portimão (Portugal), for the first round of the DTM. The nine times world rally champion finished the second free practice session 12th at the wheel of the #37 Ferrari 488 GT3, conceding only 0''514 to the best time and 0''218 to his teammate Felipe Fraga. What is especially encouraging is that Loeb is making progress, as he was only 26th in the first session, 1'477 off the best lap time. Nico Müller (#51 Audi R8 LMS GT3 / Team Rosberg) was the fastest driver on the track during FP1. He finished 0'266 ahead of Laurens Vanthoor (#92 Porsche 911 GT3-R / SSR Performance) and 0'361 ahead of Mirko Bortolotti (#63 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 / GRT). The second session was dominated by Sheldon van der Linde (#31 BMW M4 GT3 / Schubert Motorsport) with a best lap in 1'40''807. The top three was completed by Thomas Preining (#75 Porsche 911 GT3-R / Team Bernhard) and the other Schubert Motorsport BMW of Philipp Eng. The first race will start at 13:30, preceded at 10:05 by the qualifying session. The EL1 can be seen here and the EL2 here.
