ORECA Group has started the construction of its new Techno Centre
The ORECA Group is extending its current base in the Signes near the Paul Ricard Circuit, as an extension of its current facilities. The construction work began last January and the keys will be handed over in a year's time. In addition to the current LMP2 cars, ORECA is working on two projects for the Hypercar category with Alpine and Acura in LMDh. In addition, the French company is involved in the assembly of the new Ferrari 296 GT3. Other projects are in the pipeline with Hugues de Chaunac never short of ideas. The new 8000 m2 building has been designed to accommodate the new projects of ORECA Technology. All the engineering and R&D of ORECA through the Design Office will be the heart of the ORECA Techno Centre.
In addition to the search for performance and the motorsport DNA inherent to the very nature of the Techno Centre, living and sharing the passion will be a leitmotiv of this place with notably a showroom space retracing the sporting challenges and the victories of the Company. Rooms and a rooftop designed for corporate seminars will also allow for the creation of unique events where visits and speeches will be organised to combine human adventures, the search for performance and technological audacity.
Hugues de Chaunac: "Throughout its nearly 50-year history, ORECA has always had one priority objective: performance. This is more than ever the case for the cars we build! For more than 15 years, we have acquired an expertise and experience in this field that allows us today to be a world leader in the construction of prototypes in endurance racing and to work with a myth of motorsport in GT: Ferrari. The time had come to equip ourselves with industrial resources of the highest quality standards to move forward and fully project ourselves into new challenges. The Techno Centre will allow us to apprehend the future and the mutations of motor sport by being perfectly dimensioned. Lastly, it is a building that is close to my heart, because beyond the Technological dimension, it will be a place open to the outside world where the Group's values, its positioning and the dynamics that we are putting in place, such as CSR (Corporate Social Responsability), for example, will flow out."
Rémi Taffin, Technical Director: "This new racing car production plant is a strong marker of the acceleration of our business growth. It is a tool that will allow us to further progress in our current design, production and assembly activities, but also to project ourselves into the future by giving us the capacity to carry out new projects and further consolidate the "designed by ORECA" label. This new modern unit dedicated to chassis in Signes coupled with the new hydrogen facilities of our engine department in Magny-Cours make ORECA Technology more than ever a reference player with a worldwide influence."
