The new Nürburgring Endurance Series expressly welcomes the appeals from the DMSB and DSK in the build-up to the season opener at the Nürburgring. In a press release on Monday afternoon, the Deutscher Motor-Sport Bund (DMSB), the national umbrella organisation, called for cooperation on the Nordschleife, while the Deutscher Sportfahrer-Kreis (DSK), Germany's largest association of motorsport enthusiasts with 13,000 members, simultaneously urged for common sense and responsibility on the Nordschleife.

As president of the DSK, Dr Karl-Friedrich Ziegahn stated in a press release on 11 March that "the minimum goal must be for both sides to act in peaceful coexistence and to refrain from mutual digs and unfair actions". In this context, the NES expressly emphasises that no persons, institutions or groups, such as marshals and section leaders, have been approached or asked to work exclusively for one race series. NES has also not threatened any personal consequences or exclusion should a marshal or section leader, technician or external service provider working for NES make themselves equally available for another racing series or other racing event. Furthermore, no attempt has been made by NES to influence sponsors to co-operate with only one racing series. It is natural for teams to decide in favour of one or other racing series or both. For this reason, the NES has not approached any teams to speak out in favour of a particular racing series.

In fact, the opposite is the case. Endurance racing at the Nürburgring is facing negative developments due to the current economic situation.

For this reason, NES is calling on all interest groups and individuals to become involved in a neutral manner and to support endurance racing as a whole. NES has adhered to this to date and will continue to do so in the future.

Furthermore, Dr Ziegahn explains in the DSK press release: "The market will then decide which series can prevail in the medium term. There have always been precedents for the existence of competing racing series in Germany in the past." The NES faces up to this competition under fair conditions. In the process, the NES has refrained from any unfair actions to date and will continue to do so in the future. The NES expects this from all organisers and groups that are involved in endurance racing at the Nürburgring in various forms or in various capacities.

"From our point of view, competition stimulates business. We accept this challenge. The Nürburgring Endurance Series offers an alternative to secure endurance racing on the Nordschleife in the long term and to gradually reverse the recent negative developments," explains Ralph-Gerald Schlüter, managing director of the Nürburgring Endurance Series organised by the Automobilclub von Deutschland (AvD). "We focus on our work and we remain fair. In principle, we are open to dialogue with the aim of enabling both endurance series to coexist on the basis of mutual respect."
