The Isotta Fraschini Tipo 6 LMH Competizione will be back on track at Monza
Monza. In less than two weeks the Isotta Fraschini Tipo 6 LMH Competizione will be back on track to continue its development and testing programme. On the 16th and 17th of May it will hit its home asphalt of Autodromo di Monza and the car will be driven by Michelotto Engineering test driver Marco Bonanomi.
Homologation. Together with the planning of the test, the decision was also taken to defer the homologation of the car. In agreement with the FIA and ACO, this decision will make it possible to homologate the car following the maximum development possible, and with many more valuable testing kilometers. At the FIA World Endurance Championship race in Monza on the 9th July, the event will nevertheless see the presence of two Tipo 6 cars for a presentation programme, more details of which will be communicated nearer the time.
Continuous development. The homologation process with the FIA/ACO includes a wind tunnel test and analysis of the car with relative data files at the FIA technical center in Valleiry, France as well as a further test on the centre of gravity. The Tipo 6 LMH Competizione will then continue its development programme with tests at different European circuits, ready in October 2023 for the final homologation process.
Tipo 6 Pista. The first “Track Days” car, the Tipo 6 Pista, will also be ready by the end of May. The initial example is part of a special series of hypercars intended for customers who want to use them in private , custom-built events. The waiting time for the delivery of these cars, in many respects twins of the LMH Competizione, is 9 months from the moment of the order.
