Gran Turismo, the movie - First images

About ten years ago, Nissan and Sony / Playstation set up an unusual operation called GT Academy! No song or castle, but a competition with the objective of allowing a fan of the Gran Turismo game to embark on a career as a professional driver and to enter the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Since then, simracing has exploded, but at the time, the idea was unique. And the operation was a huge success, even more than the instigators of the project expected.

After a first selection of millions of people playing from their sofa, the selected players faced each other on a console in one place before the last survivors were confronted with a training course combining physical and mental preparation and of course driving... at the wheel of real cars this time.

In Europe, the Spaniard Lucas Ordóñez (2008) and the Frenchman Jordan Tresson (2010) have been succeeded by a young Briton : Jann Mardenborough (2011). It is his story that Neill Blomkamp (District 9, Elysium, Chappie...) has decided to bring to the screen with Jason Hall and Zach Baylin. Note the presence of Orlando Bloom, seen in Pirates of the Caribbean, Lord of the Rings, etc.).

Although the film is scheduled to be released on August 9, the first images trailer have already been released, featuring some faces well known to endurance fans and a special car : the Ligier JS PX.
