After a race dominated by his Toyota GR010 Hybrids, and especially by the #8 car, the technical director of the Japanese team answered our questions.

Did you expect to be as dominant here in Fuji?
No. But it's not as simple as that. It's interesting because if the gaps at the end of the race are significant, the gap in pure performance is rather small. Between our best car - the #8 - and the best Peugeot and the Alpine, there are between two and three tenths. It's not the same as the comfortable margin we have under the checkered flag. If you take the best possible stints of each car, the difference is very small.
