Here are a few news items that are not related to the GT World Challenge Europe.

  • 24H Series Huber Racing is changing the livery of its Porsche 911 GT3 R for the Barcelona round (September 10). At the wheel we should find Jörg Dreisow, Alexander Schwarzer, Manuel Lauck, Wolfgang Triller and Marc Basseng.

 

  • Rally With his faithful friend Denis Giraudet, Romain Dumas took part in the Rallye du Cigalois this weekend. For once, he was not driving a Porsche, but a BMW M3 prepared by his team RD Limited. The French driver won his class and finished fourth overall behind three R5/Rally2s. 

 

  • GT Open One more car has been confirmed for the Red Bull Ring round of the GT Open (11 September). AKM Motorsport will be entering its Mercedes-AMG GT3 for the first time this season. The San Marino-based team will rely on... the boss Marco Antonelli and Florian Scholze, who will be making his third appearance with three different teams this season. A car which should also be present at Monza (25 September) and Barcelona (16 October).

 

  • Hall of Fame The Pratt & Miller company, which is responsible for the Chevrolet and Corvette racing programmes, has been a consistent performer in endurance racing since 1999. Yesterday, Gary Pratt and Jim Miller were logically inducted into the Corvette Museum Hall of Fame. Doug Fehan, who was the Corvette Racing project manager for more than 20 years, was also present at the ceremony.

  • Porsche Carrera Cup North America This weekend, Jeff Gordon is at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the seventh of eight rounds of the Porsche Carrera Cup North America. Yesterday, the four-time Nascar champion finished 22nd - out of 33 participants - of the first race.
