Why Porsche chose the 963 for its LMDh...

Many of you have asked us for an explanation, here it is !
Giving a name to a race car is not an easy task. Except, of course, when it is derived from a production car, as is the case with GT cars. At Peugeot, all the prototypes seen at Le Mans have a name starting with a "9", generally followed by a "0" (like all the models of the brand) then the number of the current generation.
A small exception is the 9X8. The 908 is already taken, and the "X" refers to the fact that it is a four-wheel drive hybrid prototype.
