GT3 in three events at FIA Motorsport Games
The GT3 category, which was at the center of the stage at the 2018 Nations Cup in Bahrain as a prelude to the following year's FIA Motorsport Games in Vallelunga, Italy, will once again be one of the attractions of the 2022 edition at Paul Ricard (26-30 October).
The GT3 cars will be entered in three separate events this year, with each country able to enter one car. The GT race will, as in previous years, feature two-driver teams (one Bronze and one Silver) for two 60-minute free practice sessions, one qualifying session and two 60-minute races.
New for 2022, the GT Sprint event will feature single driver cars, with no category limitations. This means that Pro drivers will be able to line up, which could result in a great grid. The format will be as follows : two 30' free practice sessions, a 20' qualifying session and a single 60' race.
The GT3s will also be included in the new Endurance event, alongside the LM P3s. Event promoter SRO Motorsports will provide further details on the format of this race in the coming weeks.
Entries will be open from 15 June to 25 September 2022, with teams wishing to compete in the event being invited to contact their respective ASNs.
For the record, AKKODIS-ASP represented the French colours in Bahrain and Vallelunga, each time with Jean-Luc Beaubelique and Jim Pla at the wheel of a Mercedes-AMG GT3.
