Move along, nothing to see
Nothing to report for the overtaking of the #51 Ferrari... At the finish of the Fanatec GT World round at Paul Ricard, there was some bitterness in the Akkodis ASP camp despite the third place finishes of Raffaele Marciello, Jules Gounon and Daniel Juncadella. The first two drivers mentioned expressed surprise that the #51 Iron Lynx Ferrari 488 GT3 was overtaken off the track at the very end of the race (23:53), resulting in a one-two for the Iron Lynx Ferraris. Officials considered the race director's request regarding the overtaking at Turn 10 at Signes. Both drivers were summoned but Miguel Molina (Ferrari) could not be heard because he had to catch a plane to Le Mans. After studying the on-board camera of Jules Gounon's #88 Mercedes, the officials considered that both drivers were beyond the limits of the track and that the Ferrari was slightly ahead before leaving the track. The case was therefore closed. Very few drivers were sanctioned for not respecting the limits of the track during the six hours of racing. A black flag and in the standings... The rear light of the #63 Emil Frey Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 failed after contact with a podium finish with 20 minutes remaining. Although the driver was able to activate his rain light, the officials passed the black and orange flag, which meant a mandatory technical stop for repairs. Mirko Bortolotti continued on his way before being given the black flag, which is equivalent to a disqualification from the race. The #63 Lamborghini returned to the pits after the black flag for a quick repair. The #63 returned to the track as if nothing had happened and eventually finished in 6th place. After the finish (0h50), the officials gave a fine of 2500 euros and Mirko Bortolotti lost 1 BWP. The driver explained that he had done an extra lap before coming in and seeing the black flag. The explanation convinced the officials who did not exclude the Lamborghini.
